PAT TESTING

PAT Testing is the most efficient way to ensure that any portable electrical appliance in the workplace is safe for use. It’s advised to have PAT done as there are number of Health & Safety laws and regulations and ensure that your portable appliances are always safe to use and can be maintained successfully

Employers have a duty of care to their employees under the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1999. Additionally the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 make it your responsibility as an employer to make sure all your electrical equipment is safe to use.

You should regularly inspect, test and maintain electrical appliances to make sure they’re compliant.If you don’t do this, you could be putting yourself, your employees and your business at risk.

PAT includes the testing of uk standard 3 pin plug, appliance and power cord/cable to be tested for durability, insulation, continuity, earth leakage and has the correct fuse rating fitted, that it’s fit for purpose and safe to use then safety label fitted.

Pricing starts at £29.00 for the first 15 items which includes initial call out, full PAT test, an inventory test certificate, pass labeled stickers  & display certification.

  • Our PAT engineer will come in and inspect all portable appliances for:
  1. Visually damaged plug, lead/cable and appliance.
  2. Ensure correct fuse size/rating and replace for free where necessary.
  3. Ensure plugs are wired safely, correctly and fit for purpose.
  4. Test for breakdown in insulation of lead/cable, using approved PAT test equipment.
  5. Test loop resistance of internal wiring of lead/cable using approved PAT test equipment.
  • Following the testing you will receive:
  1. A successful pass will be given a test dated green pass sticker with expiry date.
  2. A fail will either be repaired on site but if unable will be given a red Do Not Use sticker.
  3. An inventory test certificate outlining equipment tested including pass or fail results.
  4. A display test certificate for employees or customers to see, displaying test date and expiry.
